Kansas City Missouri St. Patrick's Day Checkpoints Result in More than Sixty DUI Arrests

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department, working with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office stopped over 1000 vehicles while conducting DUI Checkpoints on two consecutive nights from about 11:00p.m. Friday evening to about 3:30a.m. Saturday morning. The second DUI checkpoint was Saturday night at 40th and Main Street, just north of the Plaza. The Friday night DUI Checkpoint was conducted once again on St. Patrick's Day at 33rd and Southwest Trafficway, about one block north of Westport, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Forty-two five drivers were taken into custody on DUI charges on Friday night alone in Kansas City, Missouri, others were charged with 'Driving While Suspended / Revoked' and other misdemeanor traffic infractions.

Other charges were issued including misdemeanor citations for Possession of marijuana, and outstanding warrant charges.
