Overland Park DUI Checkpoint

Posted By Charles R. Green || 28-Jun-2013

Overland Park Officers will be running a DUI Saturation Patrol or 'Wolfpack' this evening, with the goal of reducing accidents related to alcohol and to have a visible presence which is intended to discourage drinking and driving and to reduce incidents of DUI in Overland Park.

A Saturation Patrol or 'Wolfpack', consists of highly-experienced DUI Officers from the Traffic Safety Unit, who are looking for DUI offenders in Overland Park (See my earlier post). These officers are looking for any traffic infraction for probable cause to pull you over in the anticipation that you may have been consuming alcohol that night, and that you could be charged with DUI.

The DUI Saturation Patrol will begin at about 10:00 p.m. tonight and continue until early Saturday morning. Drivers who appear to be drunk will be asked to perform Field Sobriety Testing, and if arrested on suspicion of DUI, asked to submit to further testing on the Intoxilyzer 8000 at the station.

Planning a night out and enjoying a drink or two? Please designate a driver or call a taxi. These patrols and the Officers conducting them are very highly trained and good at what they do. This type of DUI enforcement, because of its focus and timeframe, is very effective in producing DUI charges.

If you find yourself charged in Overland Park with a DUI, contact us for a free initial consultation, or submit a Free Case Evaluation Form online today.
