DUI Enforcement to Increase this Weekend

Posted By DUI Lawyer Charles Green || 3-May-2012

With the warmer weather this weekend will come increased enforcement of DUI laws in Kansas and DWI on the Missouri side. In particular, Law Enforcement is targeting those under 21 attending prom or graduation ceremonies.

Missouri has a zero-tolerance policy for Drivers under the age of 21 with any alcohol in their system. If you are under 21 and blow under the .08 threshold, you may or may not be charged with DWI, however you will face a potential Drivers License Suspension. Kansas' Laws are similar to Missouri's.

Kansas City, Mo. has announced they will be conducting checkpoints this Friday and Saturday nights, the locations were not disclosed. Olathe Police have announced that they will also be conducting DUI Checkpoints this weekend as well.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department in conjunction with the Kansas Highway Patrol will be conducting a DUI checkpoint near De Soto Friday night.

In addition to Checkpoints, expect DUI Saturation Patrols, or 'Wolf Packs' on both sides of the State Line.

DUI Enforcement is increasing, and the Officers involved are expertly trained in DUI detection. If you are charged with DUI in Kansas or Missouri contact our office for a free consultaion or submit a Free Case Evaluation Form on our website.
