St. Joseph Man Arrested for DUI in Nebraska

Posted By DUI Attorney Charles Green || 17-Feb-2011

Police in Lincoln, Nebraska arrested Sean Cox, 37, of St. Joseph, Missouri this week after he tried to elude Officers, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 114 mph in his vehicle, a 2000 Lincoln LS with Missouri tags. Lincoln Police stated they wanted to speak with Mr. Cox and his passenger, Trendon Bowens, 30, about a counterfeit $20 bill used earlier to purchase gas at a local convenience store.
Allegedly Cox tried to elude Lincoln Police , sometimes reaching speeds of over a hundred miles an hour. After apprehending him, Police arrested Mr. Cox and charged him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident,  DUI (Third Offense),  Chemical Test Refusal, Marijuana Possession, Eluding Police, Driving While Suspended, and Speeding.
A third DUI in Kansas or Missouri is usually chaged as a Felony DUI. Eluding the police can also be charged as a felony if  other's live are put in danger.
Trying to escape from police is never a good idea, and always makes a bad situation much worse, putting your life and the lives of others, including law enforcement doing their jobs, at risk.
